When, after humidity occurrence, investigating the cause you find out that the water proofing between foundation and house is disturbed or it wasn’t applied at all, the only problem solution is to apply new water proofing.

Traditional water proofing

It is a common practice to apply to the foundation a waterproofing material layer at height of about 150 mm (two or three bricks) above the ground level as a moisture barrier. New water proofing can be installed into existing wall, for this purpose you need to cut the mortar out of the laying joint with chain saw or angle grinder. Instead of propyl put in a copper sheet or a roll roofing material, then chock the joint and fill it with fresh mortar.

Vesicular tubes

There is another waterproofing repair method. In this case horizontally in a row, close to each other, drill out bores, then insert clay vesicular tubes in it, they prevent high humidity elevation. This is the simplest and the cheapest method.

Wall preparation for chemical water proofing

Chemical waterproofing method includes waterproof chemical compound injection, it creates continuous barrier across the whole wall width. This method is quite simple, you can do it by yourself, just rent the equipment, it is applied for brick or stone walls to 60 cm thick. Buy waterproofing liquid. Before work performance you need to cut the plaster at 50 cm above the observable humidity, take off the wall base, repair laying, make rejointing. At 150 mm height above ground level outside the wall, but lower wood floor level, and if the floor is concrete, monolithic, a bit above its level drill out a row of bores. Bores deep should be equal to 75-85 mm from both sides.

Chemical water proofing injection

The most part of compressor pumps works on the same principle: dip a suction hose with filter into a tankage with liquid, close atomizer valves, hook the compressor pump up. Having connected atomizers to hoses (usually there are from 3 to 6 hoses), insert atomizers into bores in the wall, if you treat a thick wall with 75 mm deep bores – use short atomizing tips. For air removing from the system open last atomizer valve and drain off a bit of liquid. Turn the compressor pump on and insert this atomizer into the wall. Then open the valve and release liquid until it moistens brick surface. Then close all valves, replace atomizers and repeat the procedure. Having achieved the wall end, turn the compressor pump off, return to the beginning and drill out the rest bores to 190 mm deep. Change short tips for 190 mm, insert it in the wall and inject liquid. After finishing waterproofing repair wash the compressor pump with white spirit.
