The most part of leakages in construction occurs through the structure joints. This is why the material for joints and cuts waterproofing should be of high elasticity. Traditional waterproofing materials don’t have this quality. The effective construction joints and cuts waterproofing solution is elastic seal seam tape waterproofing along with mortars or prepared waterproofing mastics.

Seam tape waterproofing is a high-impact elastic waterproofing material for cuts, joints and junctions. The material waterproofs perfectly inner and outer corners, spots of “floor-wall” linkings, pipe tabs and drainage holes.

Spheres of use

Flexible or expansion joints take up loads that can cause cracks, fractures, hoggings of building constructions. The flexible joint gap size can be of dozens millimeters, that is why elastic materials are required for sealing and waterproofing of expansion joints.

Seam tape waterproofing specifications

The waterproofing tape freeze-proof, perfectly engages with cement mortars, polymer and bitum waterproofing materials, epoxide and polyurethane glues, abrasion, acid and alkali attack resistant.

The seam tape waterproofing application is not always necessary, but, taking into account that any buildings are exposed to dynamic vibrations, floor and wall junctions are the most vulnerable spots. As one of the room complex waterproofing protection element, the seam tape waterproofing will effectively protect any junctions, linkings and abutments of walls. It is recommended to use in spots of high humidity – sanitary conveniences, shower cabins, pools, in water containers of different kind and purpose. It is essential to note that the work with tape is much faster and easier than the so-called “hollow chamfers” making.

Application

With brush or putty knife apply a water proof layer to joint surface, also to pipeline and drainage output spots (the surface should be clean and solid). Cut off and lay the seam tape waterproofing into a wet waterproofing layer along the linking/corner. The seam tape waterproof is laid with knit bottom in such a way that it covers the joint completely. Push seam tape waterproofing into the applied mortar with a smooth metal/plastic putty knife of roller. In expansion layers the seam tape waterproofing should be laid in a form of “omega” loop. Tape linkings of angle units and lip-type seals are laid above the tape perforated selvedge with a little overhang onto the elastometer in such a way that its middle part staid uncovered, at that the previous waterproofing layer should be solidified, but still wet.
